THE PRIVATE STATE
PUBLISHED: 10th November, 2019 | By DERRICK DAVIS
In the modern post-totalitarian neo-liberal state we see the manifestation of an entirely new phenomena, the private state. The private state is not a formal institution of power and never will be. Instead, it is a de facto institution caused by the confluence of private power and state malfeasance. In other words the private state executes the will of the powerful elite while bypassing the rights and protections granted by public laws and restrictions of power.
The private state is an emergent property of corporate capitalism in which regulatory capture as well as lawmaker investment in private enterprise has created massive corporations as well as politicians who look the other way. In the modern United States we can see the emergence of private state action in almost all sectors but especially those involving direct consumer interaction such as those of Banking, Internet Technology, and Academia. In these three areas is where private state action is easiest to observe.
The banking sector has long been known for shady practices and the creation of arcane techniques of money manipulation. But only recently with the rise of political resistance to it’s occult arts has the industry been used as a private state actor to disrupt political dissidents. In decades previous it was the law of the land in the United States that all people have equal access to banking services, and the letter of the law still states this. But unbeknownst to many of the consumer public there is now an illegal private list (not provable of course) of undesirables that the banking industry uses to single out political dissenters from access to simple checking accounts. This example of post-totalitarianism can only be done because the government is too captured by banking interests to examine the problem that faces these dissidents. Should anyone publicly call out the Jewish financiers too loudly or be a thorn in the side of one of their pet projects it can be predictably expected they will no longer be allowed a bank account.
The internet golden age is over. There was a time once of total internet freedom. You could host whatever website you wanted with essentially no problems. No matter how offensive social media and video hosting would let you do it, not anymore. Knowledge is dangerous and the elites of all nations became afraid of the internet’s power. One by one over a half a decade march the internet hubs of the golden age have been locked down. If you so much as say a word over the PG rating you’ll be banned and need to make another account. The elite seek to make the internet like television, a completely controlled medium of autototalitarian propaganda.
This is what much of the internet is now. Comment sections have completely disappeared on most media sites and attempts to move around this have been under constant cyber attack. Anything not of the controlled narrative is spat upon by mindless drones of the political elite. There is hope however, many of the young people remember the golden age and have set up outposts for dissenters. It’s not a perfect solution against private state action but it shows that the internet can never fully be censored.
Academia is almost a lost cause. This is where private state action has been practiced the longest. What used to be bastions of knowledge and exploration of ideas has now become a factory for establishment drones who dress in rebel clothing. They become the soldiers who turn in their neighbors and hunt down the working man who just wants to live in a free country again. The only solution is to encourage self education. An intelligent man can learn all he needs to know on his own now, there is no need for formal academic education. That is not until the private state is destroyed and the academy can return to it’s former glory.
How then can the private state be ended? There are a number of methods, some of which are more preferable to others. One answer is nationalization and redistribution. Nationalize the offending corporations, break them up into constituent parts never to be reassembled and sell them back to the private market, keeping key elements to be run by the state. Another method is private insurrection, that is targeting the offending corporations by arms and destroying their properties until they change character or collapse. A third method would involve infiltration and replacement of the offending corporations critical positions and bending the institution into a better direction. Clearly all these methods are not equal and the current climate will shape any actual plan of action.
This is a post-totalitarian state. This means that even writing this is dangerous, there is no longer any predictability in how laws are applied and there is no way to know if private state action will be enacted should no law be available for abuse. Nonetheless, unless something is done and proper action taken the above abuses will remain in place forever, and eventually the private state will cease being a de facto emergence and become more and more an official player.
What could such a dystopian future look like? The perfect example in the modern world is the development of the consumer-worker. This is a model, formulated first by companies like Walmart and Amazon. In this model the employee is also the customer. In this way the companies in question are capable of total economic control without the use of government influence. Or perhaps it could work out in a private form of the Chinese model, a world social credit system in which people can’t operate normally in life if they choose to resist the system. Both of these models are being allowed to develop within America, thus, one might suspect it will be a fusion of the two crushing the people from both angles. We must as a society or at least as a resistance do what we can to prevent this future from taking place.
