"ROUGHLY A YEAR AGO WHEN I STARTED NOTICING THIS TREND AND SHIFT TOWARDS LEFT-LIBERTARIANISM I ALSO ASCERTAINED THAT SAID MOVEMENT WAS MERELY THE INFECTION OF CULTURAL MARXISM INTO THE LIBERTARIAN IDEOLOGY..."
-ADAM SMITH
PURGING LEFT LIBERTARIANISMPUBLISHED: 8th March, 2017 | By ADAM SMITHIn January, 1971 the noted Right-Libertarian Murray Rothbard would write a brief op-ed piece for the "Libertarian Forum" that would become somewhat prophetic in its analysis of the emerging "Anarcho-Communist" and "Libertarian-Socialist" movements. These movements represent a schizophrenic view of both communist and libertarian philosophies and attempt to merge and hybridize the two into something that is both egalitarian but also lacks the largesse of a fully centralized government. Typically some lip service is given to the notion of personal freedom or social libertarianism provided that corporations and factories are mandated to profit share among their workers instead of a hierarchical system where profits are funnelled upwards.
To the naive libertine, such a society might even sound utopian and indeed I suspect many anarchists in places around the world are attempting to establish such societies. I wish these people luck however I think we need to take a serious step back and fully analyze just what Anarcho-Syndicate philosophy consists of and how this movement may turn out to be the ultimate Trojan Horse for Libertarianism which is rooted fundamentally in property rights. Rothbard summarized the contradictions of these movements perfectly here: "The only good thing that one might say about anarcho-communism is that, in contrast to Stalinism, its form of communism would, supposedly, be voluntary. Presumably, no one would be forced to join the communes, and those who would continue to live individually, and to engage in market activities, would remain unmolested...Or would they? Anarcho-communists have always been extremely vague and cloudy about the lineaments of their proposed anarchist society of the future. Many of them have been propounding the profoundly anti-libertarian doctrine that the anarcho-communist revolution will have to confiscate and abolish all private property, so as to wean everyone from their psychological attachment to the property they own." And this is where we see the current infection within the Libertarian movement whereby Left-Libertarians are now more interested in social libertarianism (polyamory, transgenderism, recreational drug use, etc.) than property rights. Roughly a year ago when I started noticing this trend and shift towards Left-Libertarianism I also ascertained that said movement was merely the infection of Cultural Marxism into the Libertarian Ideology. Instead of Libertarians being criticized for their economic wealth and capital gains, they would be punished in another way - for failing to embrace transgenderism, polyamory and recreational drug use. This distinction can be delineated as the "freedom to..." crowd vs. the "freedom from..." crowd (Left-Libertarians the former and Right-Libertarians the latter). Certain famous Libertarian and Anarchist personalities who shall go unnamed, gravitated towards this new influx of delusional do-as-I-please-harm-no-one millennials and tapped into the market promoting everything from Yoga, to pick-up artistry to ayahuasca. The goal ostensibly at the time, was to widen their consciousness so that they could finally grasp the truth of Libertarian Philosophy and go back to their homelands to begin advocating for gun rights, freedom of speech, property rights and a libertarian natural order. Or was it? Instead it has had a completely different effect by subtly shifting the Overton window toward a "one world" philosophy of sharing through free trade whereby the individual is free to pursue essentially anything regarding their own personal pleasure, sexual identity, etc. and still be a morally "pure" in that they were not harming others (so long as they engaged in "free trade" and were not on the government dole). Ostensibly this is all well and good but it morphed yet again with Trump's run up to the Presidency regarding border control or lack thereof. "Why shouldn't I be allowed to go wherever I like?" was repeated ad nauseum along with other catchy truisms such as "all borders are just imaginary". Unfortunately so too are money and private property largely human imaginations but this seems to have escaped them entirely. The question isn't whether such imaginations exist in any objective concrete physical sense but whether such distinctions are *useful* towards establishing a Libertarian Natural Order and more peaceful world. This has escaped them completely. These new catchy truisms then came up against an inevitable pushback from Right-Libertarians such as myself who were never comfortable with open-borders or the philosophy behind it. Even if statist borders were removed, private property and communities of property owners who want to voluntarily associate only with selected individuals would thus still provide some restrictions on travel and migration. This essentially brought the debate full circle and people began calling the open borders Anarchist and Left Libertarians hypocrites by implying that their pie-in-the-sky travel plans and desire to live and move anywhere without any strings attached would interfere with consensual norms regarding private property and even public markets which need to be closely monitored and safeguarded: for instance a single act of terrorism in an open market place essentially ruins that market for future market goers. Once people feel unsafe they will tend to tighten their purses and stay indoors. Thus it is completely antithetical to a libertarian economic order and growth through free trade to allow interlopers and degenerates into your community. End of debate right? Not quite... Instead of taking the red pill the Left-Libertarians are now mounting something of an insurrection. Since they lost the open borders debate due to private property norms what is their next logical point of attack? Naturally, private property itself. I have recently had several encounters with "Libertarian Socialists" and other Left Libertarians that ended with vague threats regarding forcible removal of private property due to individuals like myself having a "private property fetish". And this is pushing them in bed with Anarcho-Communists and Antifas as well who believe such a revolution must be violent to sever our "emotional attachment" to our private property. As absurd as it sounds, this is how far the infection has taken us. What started out as singing Kumbaya and smoking weed with our newly found libertarian brethren from the Left has turned into a new kind of egalitarian freak-show. You know a Marxist will always reveal themselves by calling something totally normal and well understood in human society a "fetish" and the rejection of something clearly harmful to society a "phobia" - this is how they always reveal themselves. But how did they become like this? Why does this pattern repeat itself over and over again with each new political "movement" ultimately turning into degeneracy and forced egalitarianism? "Some would say, not incorrectly, that individualism is a kind of sociopathy and solipsism: it denies the world outside the self except as an agent of the self, or an extension of the self, or in extreme cases, views the world as part of the self instead of the other way around. This is a fundamental inversion, like pretending to be God, that afflicts humans like a bad mental virus. The reason humans shift Leftward by default is that we like to socialize, and socializing means accepting the individualism of others, and this in turn means accepting the worldview in which individualism is the default. This means that instead of thinking about the consequences of our actions in reality, we are thinking about: *Symbolism. What message does it send? What does it stand for? *Feelings. How does this make other people and the group feel? *Appearance. How does this make me look to others, and how will they react? *Judgments. Does this communicate safety or risk to others? If you wonder why the West has drifted into decay, here is your answer: the default state of human beings is self-destruction, but they are only liberated to this state when they are so dominant over their environment that they have excess. Someone whose concerns are bound up with reality is conservative, and people who spend all their time on survival tend to be that way." This is why many millennials are so screwed up because they embrace moral and cultural relativism - its just not worth it to them to fight the inevitable slide towards collapse when they can get free shit, pretend to be a victim, pretend to be a member of the opposite sex and have a million and one sexual partners...or better yet, infect a political movement based on enlightenment and private property rights and bring it to its knees. Libertarianism has always been a conservative philosophy because natural law has ensured that only the self-responsible are capable of maintaining it as a value system. We prefer the government be limited to basic services like border patrol and not expand endlessly to tackle new trivial problems such as recreational drug use. In doing so, we restrain the government and are able to rely on social norms instead to keep said activities within reason. For instance the casual marijuana smoker is not a threat precisely because he has not allowed his desire for the simple carnal pleasure of getting high to overwhelm his capacity to reason that he must still work and be productive however in other more extreme cases, in the absence of welfare, drug addicted individuals simply become examples of moral hazard for the community (i.e. "don't be like that idiot so and so"). The Left-Libertarian Solipsist believes otherwise - he believes the entire apparatus of the Libertarian Social Order exists simply to produce marijuana for his pleasure so he can get high. Inevitably, this individual will corrupt society and turn it back to government subsistence as well as signal to his degenerate friends that there is more free shit to loot based on the surplus that others created. My advice to Right Libertarians is to attempt to red-pill your Left Libertarian friends until they fully accept property right norms *or* purge them permanently from the community including making a name for them as interlopers so others can beware of their nefarious intentions.
