THE UN AS WORLD GOVERNMENT PART 3: SOCIAL ENGINEERING, PROGRESSIVISM, AND THE POST 2015 DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The United Nations and it's various agencies and branches are hard at work preparing what it refers to as it's Post 2015 Development Goals. The pursuit of these goals is how the UN plans to expand it's scope and power while appearing to work to better the world. The UN has decided to pursue and ever more progressive far letting agenda. At first glance at the proposed goals, they seem innocuous, and benign. After all who could possibly be against ending poverty and providing water for people? These are great goals it would seem. Who wouldn't want to help the disadvantaged of the world? But when one looks closer with a critical eye we see that these goals are out of the ability of government to accomplish and that any state that would attempt to solve these complex social issues can only do so while expropriating more money and resources from productive, free individuals. If the 20th century has taught us anything it is that the welfare state is simply incapable of solving these issues and indeed makes them worse. The true motivation for any state in involving itself in these issues is to increase it's scope and power. It is a formula that has worked well for the nation states and the United Nations has learned the lesson well. The list of the 17 proposed goals include:
The only way for United Nations to act on these proposed goals is too expand itself, as well as the scope and power of it's member states. This is a decidedly left wing agenda, and it comes from the faulty thinking that the state can provide the solutions to complex social issues. The pursuit of these goals is just continuation of Agenda 21. The UN is also pandering to feminists, most of whom support any kind of state action that promotes the interests of women with goal 5. Instead of wanting to empower and promote equality among all people of the world the UN is specifically worried about women. This is just the same regurgitated left wing clap trap that has become the mainstream of Universities and is seeping it's way into everyday culture. This is nothing more then the UN using the divisive nature of Cultural Marxism to pander to special interest groups to attain power.
GLOBAL GREEN NEW DEAL
Between 1933 and 1939 President Franklin D. Roosevelt introduced what he called a "New Deal" for America. This New Deal involved a vast government expansion and intervention in the economy. Despite what the Keynesian economists today preach, Roosevelt's interventions didn't help fix the depression infact it prolonged it. Whether it was minimum wage laws, Social Security or paying farmers to throw away their product to keep prices high, the long term consequences of Roosevelt's New Deal economically crippled the United States and helped facilitate the growth of state power into the lives of every individual.
In 2009 not long after the collapse of the financial markets the United Nations wrote a policy paper calling for a "Global Green New Deal". What this "Global Green New Deal" or GGND amounted too was the acceleration of UN Agenda 21. Some of the recommendations included:
The execution of GGND would be done by governments, funded by international financial institutions and coordinated by the G20 and ultimately the United Nations. Like an emerging federal government the UN uses any excuse to meddle in the affairs of it's member states. The way it tried to organize this GGND is how any state trying to increase it's power would act. If we give the UN an inch when it comes to organizing the affairs of nations, like all states, it WILL take the mile. We must not allow the United Nations to organize the interactions between states as some kind of monolithic global state. In fact we need to abolish the UN and then work to decentralize power in our own nation states.
In a report from UNESCO the United Nations Education Scientific Cultural Organization titled Global Citizenship Education it stated:
It represents a conceptual shift in that it recognizes the relevance of education in understanding and resolving global issues in their social, political, cultural, economic and environmental dimensions. It also acknowledges the role of education in moving beyond the development of knowledge and cognitive skills to build values, soft skills and attitudes among learners that can facilitate international cooperation and promote social transformation.
Right off the bat it becomes obvious that UNESCO isn't worried about teaching children the necessary skills for success in life, but it is working to indoctrinate and creating "social transformation", if this isn't a UN attempt at social engineering, I don't know what is! The report discusses teaching children about "collective identity". This is a direct assault on the mind of the individual! Individuals have a right and ability to define themselves and their own identity. They are not dependent on the group for their identity and shouldn't be! They can choose to acknowledge some part of their heritage but individuals are harder to manipulate and pigeonhole because they think independently of whatever group they belong too. Encouraging "collective identity" is an assault on the personality of a child, and conveniently makes them easier to control.
Global Citizen Education, also focuses heavily on the concept of sustainable development. Sustainable Development is the concept fleshed out by Agenda 21. Sustainable development calls for government planning in every facet of human life, in order to conserve resources and curb human consumption. The plan also includes robbing westerners of what little property rights we have left and handing control of all land to vast bureaucracies,. The end goal of Agenda 21 land management is to get human beings off the land, out of rural centres and to compact us all into high density urban centers where we will be jammed packed into high density micro-apartments, where our consumption patterns will be greatly reduced through economic measures created by the bureaucratic mega-state, to artificially inflate the price of living, through initiatives such as carbon taxes which will artificially inflate the price of just about everything.
The report also promotes the idea of "Social Justice" a left wing term that basically means the a person is owed something by the group for the simple fact he exists. This far left wing concept that is so open it is mostly meaningless. Anytime the far left protests something they don't like they raise the banner of "social justice". Social justice is championed anytime the group wants to infringe on the rights of the individual.
Social justice warriors define it this way:
"Social justice is the ability people have to realize their potential in the society where they live" - John Rawls, A Theory of Justice (1971)
This vague definition can and is used to justify all sorts of state action by the far left, or anyone else wants to call for. According to a UN report titled Social Justice in an Open World: The Role of the United Nations:
Social justice is not possible without strong and coherent redistributive policies conceived and implemented by public agencies
This is more flowery euphemisms that basically reinforce what we covered earlier about how in this far left wing paradigm people are divided into groups, and taught that their place in life is decided not based on their own merits and efforts in life, but by their ethnic/sexual preference/gender. This nonsense is being taught in schools here in Canada. In a resource guide given to Toronto District Teachers titled "An Educators Guide For Changing the World" it states:
We want to emphasize that our identity is socially constructed, and de-emphasize the role of personal choice and agency. This is key – we are asking them to consider that their lives are largely a function of their identity, their gender, race, class, etcetera. This identity is not something that they can control; it is typically something we are born into and unlikely to change. Just as their own accomplishments are tied to their identity, so too [is] everyone else’s accomplishments (or lack thereof).. tied to their identity.
UNESCO'S Global Citizen Education is already alive in well in Canadian schools and schools all across the world. The UN is using it's various organizations to indoctrinate children across the world into an economic and cultural Marxist worldview. The UN has learned the lessons of history well, that in order to change society, the most effective solution is to target the children. It is imperative that liberty minded people work hard to counter the social engineering in our own children, and work doubly hard to spread the message and philosophy of liberty. This is an ideological war between those who want the use the violence of the state to enforce egalitarianism and those who reject violence and support true liberty, through self ownership and the non aggression principle. These mean a respect for free markets and private property, to lose this ideological battle will mean humanity will be condemned to the worst tyranny the world has ever seen. A global state where the individual will be forever subjugated to the will of a massive bureaucracy who will rule over every aspect of the life of the individual in the name of egalitarianism and amorphous "greater good".
