"THE KLAUS REPORT WOULD ALMOST CERTAINLY HAVE EXPOSED A MASSIVE INFESTATION OF BOLSHEVISM WITHIN THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT..."
JOSEPH MCCARTHY - AMERICAN HERO

One of the most infamous and reviled characters by those of the leftward persuasion is Joseph McCarthy. The simple utterance of his name is usually enough to rustle the most composed of leftist jimmies. His actions taken in the Senate intent on rooting out the red menace were even given a name and it, McCarthyism, has become synonymous with political witch hunts.
It is often used as a cudgel against the right, and wrongly so, for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that it was simply the continuance of an investigation started by the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1938 and largely overseen by Democrats. Which is funny, as Norman Thomas would soon declare that he needn't run any longer as the Democrat Party had adopted the Socialist Party platform.
Senator McCarthy simply took the ball and ran with it in the Senate. He was likely driven to do so after discovering the contents of a State Department memo by Samuel Klaus. By the time he had discovered it about four years had passed and nothing had been done, and given the knowledge of the existence of organizations like the Comintern, how was this investigation shelved for so long?
The Klaus Report would almost certainly have exposed a massive infestation of Bolshevism within the highest levels of government were it not lost after being turned over to Millard Tydings, the Democrat Senator who was heading up the investigation into McCarthy's findings(1). Of all documents that could be lost to bureaucratic ineptitude it had to be the one that would at once exonerate an American patriot from the lies and slander that plagued his investigation and reputation, while simultaneously condemning those being investigated.
No, Senator McCarthy ended up being lambasted and vilified in the press for conducting a witch hunt and chasing boogeymen. The negative coverage of his honest proaction was highlighted and accelerated in the years to come, all while the infestation was growing.
In the late 50's the U.S. adopted an outward position of anti-communism and hammered this point at home with our own propaganda. We've all seen the "Make Mine Freedom" cartoon where hapless citizens are almost taken by an evil, silver-tongued salesman pushing his communist snake oil. This type of propaganda was necessary to direct the public eye toward the red menace abroad, hence the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, with further entanglements in lesser Southeastern Asian nations like Laos and Cambodia.
All of this, apart from being the beginnings of Keynesian economics put into full practice, had the added effect of distracting the American populace from the viral, existential threat growing within their society. This virus had infected the nation's immune system while it was waging wars against ghosts.
As the virus spread it infected other parts of the body. Public fervour for the wars waning and the death toll mounting, the nation suffered one public defeat after another. The Korean war ended in a lukewarm armistice that lasts to this day, and the communists flew their flag high over Saigon not fifteen minutes after the last Huey dusted off. This coupled with the fact that at home, American television screens were lit with the images of heroes returning from what they surely thought might be certain death only to be spat upon by communist-indoctrinated youths, as they cut to a scene of cowardly charlatans throwing away and burning their medals, made for a truly dark picture of the American zeitgeist.
Though the threat of communism was still pervasive, the focus was shifted primarily onto the Russians after the late 60's, and especially after the end of Vietnam in '75. The Space Race provided a perfect narrative to paint the Ruskies as the bad guys, though in retrospect it was pure nationalism, deduced further as pure dick measuring. Nothing out of the norm for supposed adversaries. However, all of this provides a convenient distraction from the metastasizing corruption of communism in our very own government all the while.
They launched satellites, we launched satellites. They launched animals, we launched men. The world was captivated with the pissing contest that was the free Occident vs. the Iron Curtain. It did not take long, however, for the coffers to begin to run dry for Russia, and after a series of setbacks at Baikonur their space program was floundering. As economic hardship befell the once great land of the czars the cold war became colder.
Reagan, though running on a platform of economic reform, continued to toe the line in giving the go-ahead for programs such as Operation Cyclone, where we began funnelling money into the middle east to arm and train what we were told were moderate rebels. Let that stew for a minute. Yeah, the French have a phrase for that; not "déjà vu", but "connerie".
What was our purpose there? Well to drive the Ruskies out of Kashmir and Northern Afghanistan, silly! We can't possibly have them gaining a foothold in some of the most treacherous, barely-habitable, non-permissive territory devoid of natural resources this side of the Indus River! Never you mind that ever-growing preponderance of Marxist professors influencing your children at home.
The United States experienced an unprecedented growth and consumption, our societal cognizance was blind to these black wars as they were being waged before our very eyes. We watched the boobtube; fat, happy, and comatose never once seeing the forest through the trees. We sat mesmerized as Reagan commanded Gorbechev to "tear down this wall" and felt invincible as he did just that a little over two years later.
The spirit of faux nationalism was high and we were ripe for the picking by the communist elites who by this time had gained power and influence in every aspect of our lives. No longer were they in our own government, but they had long been sewing the seeds of power within the structure of a global political organization which previously only held marginal power the world over.
The first true test of this nationalist fervour mixed with communist global influence was that of George Bush, Sr, NATO and the invasion of Iraq from Kuwait for gol... I mean oi.... I mean muh freedom cause reasons.
With the advent of the internet we have seen an explosion in the public knowledge of heretofore unrelated events. Events that have gone largely unnoticed for years, even decades, are now being shone a new light that they would never have seen otherwise. I don't know about you, but did you ever read about the U.S.S. Liberty in a McGraw-Hill textbook?
These days you can't walk onto a college campus without being inundated with critical theory and all its latent societal effects.
Yesterday it was war on women: The blue hairs had a fit, some old cat ladies made their granddaughters wear pussy hats.
Today it's a war on blacks: Muh Hands Up Don't Shoot or we will riot, or the Boer has expropriated this land from the African man (who are not native there either) and whitey just so happens to fit that bourgeois class narrative so, I'm gonna need that farm, white devil.
Tomorrow it's a war on some form of sexual degeneracy. Homosexuality is so pervasive now that you are shunned in polite society if you do not outright agree with it or at least tacitly support it. Perhaps the Christian fundamentalists were right when they warned of the slippery slope? There are already myriad attempts at normalizing pedophilia.
Rinse and repeat all you want, but the more cycles you put this wash through, it keeps getting dingier.
Though I have yet to find a study conducted on the correlation between the societal sentiment toward it's government and it's knowledge of said government's affairs, rest assured that correlation exists, and it does not favor those in power who do not abide by the will of their subjects.
As the illusions of materialism fade upon the coming generations of the Occident they will continue to chip away at the facade that’s built up around them, yearning for more than empty cycles between endorphins, dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin. All of this is by design. It is meant to weaken us as a society, and make us that much easier to destroy. Not only was Joseph McCarthy right, he should be one of the most canonized individuals in history. Yet he remains a laughing stock, and a tool for us to be browbeaten with.
We can no longer allow it. If our enemies are to invoke his name against us, let us wear it as a badge of honor! Joseph McCarthy was a hero, and though he was up against the Leviathan, he showed immeasurable courage and resolve right up until he met his untimely end. But that's another story entirely... or are you getting it yet?
